March 6 – 8, 2015
Write a 200 word essay on “Montgomery to Selma: Footsteps from Yesterday to Today”.
Essay should include the following:
- What was “Bloody Sunday” and its importance?
- What does “Bloody Sunday” mean to you today?
- How can we apply the lessons of “Bloody Sunday” to help solve problems both real and perceived in contemporary society?
Essays should be sent electronically to the Evansville African American Museum by Tuesday, February 10, 2015 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Winner will be announced by February 23, 2015.
The Evansville African American Museum (EAAM) is sponsoring a bus trip to the 50th Anniversary of the Montgomery to Selma March on March 6 – 8, 2015. The bus trip will include a visit to the Rosa Parks Museum, activities in Selma commemorating the march, and visits to other historic sites.
